Asian Film Festival 2023 opens in Da Nang
Twenty selected films will vie for the Asian Film Award and Vietnamese Film Award categories.
Local people will have the chance to watch 89 films, including the 20 nominees, free of charge at all cinema theatres, including Le Do, CGV, Galaxy, and the APEC Park.
It will also feature a series of workshops on the development and cooperation of the cinema industry.
DANAFF 2023 aims to select and honor excellent Vietnamese and Asia-pacific cinematographic works, introduce them to the public, and encourage the growth of emerging talents in the region.
In his opening speech, Le Trung Chinh, head of the Da Nang administration, noted by hosting the festival, Da Nang wishes to create a regional and international brand in the field of cinema, contributing to promoting the integration and cooperation of the cinema industry.
This is also a forum for domestic and foreign professional cinematographers to exchange ideas, seek cooperation opportunities and expand the film market, said Chinh.
The festival is scheduled to run through to May 13.
