Ta Giang Phinh commune, also known as Ngu Chi Son commune, is a border commune located in the Sapa district, about 28 km from the town center. If you want to come here, go along National Highway 1A to Ban Den, then follow Provincial Road 152 to Xuan Vien, then reach National Highway 4D to O Quy Ho village, before turning to Provincial Road 155 for another 15km. After that, you will finally arrive at the place.
The village is not far away from the center of Sapa, but remained a hidden gem since it is located near the border with a complex pathway to travel on.
This is a mesmerizing destination that you should visit once in your lifetime, in order to enjoy the natural scenery and learn more about the life of the Mong and Dao ethnic people here.

Ta Giang Phinh was a valley at the foot of Ngu Chi Son mountain, surrounded by tall and majestic cliffs. Although it is covered with fog all year round, sunlight still shines over this village every morning, which makes the scenery even more magnificent and lively.
One of the most charming things about Ta Giang Phinh is the authentic local houses’ lifestyles. Trekking is a great way to explore every corner of the place and experience the local ways of living. Local tribes are quite friendly and hospitable. During your journey, you will be warmly welcomed to visit any local home for better insights into local cultures. Not like the other Sapa trekking routes – some locals will approach and follow the travelers to sell their handicrafts.
When hiking in Ta Giang Phinh, you are on your journey to admire the landscapes of rice terraces, peaceful streams, local hamlets, and stunning mountainscapes.

You can also enjoy the beautiful scenery of rice fields located at the foot of Ngu Chi Son mountain. The terraced fields will ripen golden in autumn from September to October, turning green to beautiful yellow, adorning the natural scenery even more beautifully and poetically.
Aside from the wonderful terraced fields, tourists can also take their time to check out the Lanh waterfall and capture the most beautiful pictures. This is a waterfall about 150-200 meters high, located next to the tourist route from O Quy Ho to Y Ty. From above, the waterfall falls that looks like white silk, which is extremely breathtaking.

Trekking in Ta Giang Phinh is also a good spot to admire the majestic beauty of Ngu Chi Son mountain. Ngu Chi Son includes 5 mountains pointing out to the sky. To local people, those mountains are likened to Buddha’s five fingers, so they call it Buddha’s finger mountain or Ngu Chi Son. The peak is at 2,850 meters- the second highest one in Sapa ( after Fansipan mount), covered by clouds all year around and soon becomes an ideal destination to conquer among mountain trekkers.
Keep in mind that Ta Giang Phinh is not as convenient as Cat Cat, Ta Phin, Lao Chai, and other scenic spots in Sapa. There are not many restaurants in the commune, so bringing your own food and drinks is advised. You can also choose to stay in the hotel to have better service.
