Weather Forecast in Vietnam (January 28th): Persistent Cold Waves in the North

According to the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, the weather has been extremely cold in the Northern and north-central regions. In some areas, there has even been frost in the northern highlands.

It is strongly recommended that people wear warm clothing when outdoors, as the cold waves and rain can be detrimental to their health, especially in mountainous areas. Heavy rain can also impact sightseeing, tourism activities, and the safety of vehicles on the roads.

This harsh weather conditions can also have an effect on livestock, poultry, and the growth of plants.

Weather Forecast in Different Regions

Northwest region: The weather forecast predicts cold and rainy conditions in the early mornings and at night. High mountain areas may experience frost and snow. The lowest temperature will range between 8-11 degrees, and in some areas, it may even drop below 0 degrees. The highest temperature will range between 11-14 degrees, with some places reaching above 14 degrees.

Northeast region: The weather will be cloudy with light rain in some areas. High mountain areas may experience frost and snow. The lowest temperature will range between 9-12 degrees, with some areas dropping below 0 degrees. The highest temperature will range between 12-15 degrees, with some mountainous areas remaining below 11 degrees.

Thanh Hoa – Thua Thien Hue: The weather is forecasted to be cold and cloudy in some areas during the early mornings and at night. Winds will be from the north to northwest with a level 3 intensity. The lowest temperature will range between 11-14 degrees, with some areas in the south reaching above 14 degrees. The highest temperature will be 13-15 degrees in the north and 16-19 degrees in the south.

Da Nang – Binh Thuan: The weather will be a mix of clouds and sun during the day, with showers in the evening. The lowest temperature will range between 18-21 degrees in the north and 21-24 degrees in the south. The highest temperature will be 24-27 degrees in the north and 27-30 degrees in the south.

The Central Highlands: The weather will be a mix of clouds and sun during the day, with rain at night. The lowest temperature will range between 16-19 degrees, and in some areas, it may drop below 16 degrees. The highest temperature will be 26-29 degrees.

The Southern region: The weather will be a mix of clouds and sun during the day, with rain in the evening. Winds will be from the northeast with a level 2-3 intensity. The lowest temperature will range between 22-25 degrees, and the highest temperature will be 31-34 degrees, with some places reaching above 34 degrees.

Weather Forecast in Major Cities

Ho Chi Minh City: The weather will be sunny with intense heat towards the afternoon. The morning temperature will range between 24-32 degrees. The average air humidity is 62%. The wind will be light, coming from the southwest with a speed of 6-15km/h. In the afternoon, the weather will be cooler with no rain. The evening temperature will be around 26-29 degrees. The average air humidity is 70%, and the wind direction will change to the southeast with a speed of 9-26km/h.

Hanoi: The weather will be cold and rainy, with extremely low temperatures at night. The lowest temperature will range between 10-12 degrees, and the highest temperature will be 13-15 degrees.
